We had looked at many possible wedding venues before we came across Keavil. We were looking for a wow factor and Keavil supplied this for us. The day we arrived, The Mountbatten suite was setup for a wedding and it looked beautiful. We were immediately taken with the presentation of the room set-up. The room was a perfect size for us (125 guests). The gardens were looking lovely and although ours was to be a winter (January) wedding, we thought we would get some lovely outside photographs (which we did end up getting).
We met Nikala our wedding co-ordinator who was very professional. She took us through all the processes involved in the planning of our special day, putting us at ease and answering all our daft questions!!
The day itself was fantastic with everything going exactly as we hoped. Nikala and the team at Keavil were superb controlling everything and putting us at ease all day. We didn't have to worry about anything.
Our meal was superb with a wide range of choices. The bedrooms were perfect for us (the wedding suite) and our guests. Many of whom took the opportunity to spend the wedding night at the hotel on preferential rates. We had several guests who had special requirements and these were all met without any problem.
We did however have an issue with regards to the room allocation system whereby there was a mix-up the evening prior to the wedding. The bride and bridesmaids were initially given rooms which were actually allocated to the groom and his party however this was dealt with quickly. There was also an issue whereby one of the wedding party guests who had stayed the night before had to change rooms on the wedding day and initially there wasn't a room available for her. We had voiced concerns regarding this at an earlier meeting but it transpired that the error still occurred. This is something the Keavil needs to address.
We would highly recommend the Keavil as a wedding venue with a special mention for Nikala and her team.
