We were married at Stonehouse Court Hotel in early October and had a wonderful day. We began our wedding planning mid 2016 and were impressed by the helpful support of our wedding coordinator Fred. We were concerned when Fred left in Spring 2017, however we needn’t have worried as Paige proved to be an able replacement. We wanted our wedding to be informal and relaxed with the odd quirky touch. She quickly understood what we were aiming for and was well organised, responsive, friendly and reassuring. The hotel was more than happy to accommodate the various special diets of a number of our guests as well as the arrangements we wanted for the large number of young children attending.
We had what initially looked like a setback when about 5 weeks before the wedding we were informed that Paige was unwell and wouldn’t be back in work until about a week before our wedding. We had a somewhat unsatisfactory meeting with a member of staff but before matters escalated the General Manager Marian Jurko stepped in. He was very proactive in resolving things and was keen to take the stress out of the situation for us, so Dominic, who would be running our wedding day, took over as our point of contact. Although we were concerned to have had four wedding coordinators in our preparation, and to have to revisit our requirements four times, we were happy with how the hotel responded to the unexpected difficulties.
On the day we were cared for brilliantly by Dominic. Everything flowed and seemed effortless. All the food was lovely, the weather held out and we were able to enjoy the grounds. The Caroline Suite lawn and children’s play ground came into their own. The staff were friendly and attentive, our guests felt well looked after and were very complimentary about the hotel and the wedding.
Thank you Paige and Dominic, you are an asset to the team. Knowing what we know now, would we choose Stonehouse Court as our wedding venue if we were doing it again...Yes we would.
