Wedding Planning Tips From The Experts at Wyboston Lakes

Wedding planning can be a scary thought if you’ve never done it before. Most couples find out soon into the planning process that it’s not all cakes and dresses (although that is a very fun part!). Although planning a wedding might appear daunting at first, with the right people by your side, it can be a breeze. We’ve asked the experts at Wyboston Lakes, Bedfordshire to give us their insider wedding planning tips…

Helping hand…

The most useful piece of advice I can give to couples is to speak to your venue. They are there to help you whether it’s to offer advice on table planning, ideas on your perfect reception music or just a chat and a coffee to offload on some wedding stress!

Destination Weddings

If your guests are coming to a destination wedding, it’s a good idea to include the reference code on their invites. This would mean your guests would benefit from the best room rate available and will guarantee that all your guests who stay, will be together the following day for breakfast. Quite a few people think by searching online they will find a better deal but this can result in breakfast not included, being seated separately the next day or not being included in the allocated rooms (which could also mean missing out on any upgrades!).

Cake Details…

We have a lot of brides who want their entire wedding cake cut with the evening buffet. I often advise couples to keep at least half a tier of their cake, if not for traditional purposes but for themselves.
During the reception, couples will be so busy chatting and dancing, they may not have a chance to grab a bite!

Don’t be Afraid of a Cheesy Wedding Song!

There are far too many cheesy songs to pick but there is an up and coming trend at the minute, where couples have their first dance together with a song that reflects their personalities. Guests join half way through and then the DJ takes over with a dance tune. This is a great way to get your guests up on their feet at the beginning of the evening and hopefully all through the night!
