The Northern end of the Yorkshire coastline is designed as a Heritage Coast and boasts the highest point on the east coast of England. The shoreline alternates between rugged rocky beaches and glorious stretches of white sand. The Moors have 3 distinct landscapes - the moorlands, which are covered in heather, the pasture lands which are lush and green, and the woodlands. The area is rich with ancient sites and over 700 monuments. There are over 2,300km of trails. In July, temperatures average at 16° however September is the driest month for North Yorkshire.
