Pretty Pastels: Stephanie + Matthew's Summer Wedding

A breezy Al Fresco ceremony with romantic dove release – and a Best Man who stole the show!

Love was in the air as Stephanie and Matthew exchanged vows underneath the outdoor wedding temple at the Best Western Plus Rogerthorpe Manor Hotel. The old world style columns tied in perfectly with the pair’s sweet vintage theme.

A beautiful summer’s day, the flickering sunshine radiated against the pastel palette of the mismatched bridesmaid dresses, and the bride made a show-stopping entrance in a glamorous ivory fishtail gown.

Breaking with tradition, the groom’s adorable 10-year-old nephew held the honorable role of Best Man – and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house during his speech!

The Beginning…

“We first met at the gym back in 2011. Matt was a personal trainer and I fancied him so much! I continued going to the gym (stalking him) every single day until he finally noticed me and after about three months, he finally asked me out! And, the love story began.”

The Engagement…

“Matt asked me to marry him on Christmas day 2014. After opening all my presents, I was just about to get ready for our day and he told me there was one last present from him. In front of my parents, he produced a large cardboard box full of tissue and said to me ‘every time you put your hand in, you will get a different present’. I continued to rummage through until I pulled out a tiny box. Inside was a matching wedding and engagement ring – the same ones I had my eye on since the day I met him!”

On The Venue…

We did some research on potential venues and given everything we wanted, the Best Western Plus Rogerthorpe Manor Hotel came out on top every time. I made two show-around appointments; one at the Rogerthorpe Manor Hotel on the Saturday and one at Waterton Park on the Sunday. After my appointment with Nicola on the Saturday, my mind was made! I set the date and I didn’t even go to the appointment on the Sunday at Waterton Park. Nicola was so helpful. Little did I know then that my wedding journey with Rogerthorpe Manor would get better and better.”

The staff at Rogerthorpe are undeniably the heart of this hotel, nothing is too much for them. Their service is five star and I couldn’t have asked for better assistance throughout our preparations. We had people messaging us for days afterwards about how stunning everything was. Our ceremony was outside in the stunning grounds, which was a big tick in the box for us.”

“Our venue will always hold a special place in my heart now. The staff there and in particular Karen and Nicola, made me feel like I was the only person to ever get married there.”

On The Photographer…

Our photographer Daniel from 123 Photography was great. I started to get a little grumpy on my wedding day as I was tired of having my picture taken (believe it or not). I actually thought that my pictures wouldn’t be great because I didn’t want to have any taken! But when I received them, I was blown away!! The pictures were amazing and huge credit is due to the photographer for putting up with bridezilla on the day.”

A huge thanks to Stephanie and Matthew for sharing their special day at the Best Western Plus Rogerthorpe Manor Hotel with us and to their photographer Daniel for allowing us to publish these beautifully natural shots. You can see more of his work at www.123photography.co.uk
