Birdcage Veils

Birdcage Veils

We have been obsessed with veils over the last few weeks here at WeddingDates. And, as our obsession has grown, we’ve found more and more types of veils to fall in love with.

One type of veil we’ve always adored is the birdcage veil. Quite popular in the 30’s and 40’s, birdcage veils have slowly crept their way back in to fashion recently. The vintage trend is going nowhere anytime soon and we have to say, we’re delighted!

Birdcage veils can range from innocent and coy to elegant and classic. They’re perfect if you have a fun short hair cut or have amazing bone structure to show off.

Tips For Wearing a Birdcage Veil

  • Check the height and width. Birdcage veils should cup you face or hit your cheekbones.
  • The traditional birdcage veil is usually net, but tulle and silk veils also look amazing!
  • Don’t forget to match your veil with your gown if you’re wearing white or cream. Or, show your fun side with a brightly colored birdcage and shoes!
