Keep Calm and Comeback From These Wedding Faux-pas

Keep Calm and Comeback From These Wedding Faux-pas

It’s funny, as soon as you beginning planning your wedding, it’s going to feel like everyone wants to give their two cents in. While, this can feel like a compulsion for your friends and family, it doesn’t make it easier for you. Well here are some fab comebacks to those very insightful comments (i.e wedding faux-pas). You’ll have their jaw dropping!

“Are you sure you’re ready to do this?”

Possibly coming from an unmarried acquaintance, this sort of question is more than likely a projection of their own fear and can’t imagine this lifelong commitment for them. The comeback? Exude confidence, leaving no room for debate when you say “Completely! But we are completely in love and ready to be together forever.”

“Is that the ring you wanted?”

Almost any choice of ring can elicit some kind of snide remark. It’s too big, too small, the cut is tacky… this sort nasty behaviour is probably a sign of jealousy or just plain snootiness. Your reply? It is every newly engaged lady’s right to show off that rock! Suck out all of those negative vibes and deflect with a simple reply like, “We’re so excited and happy to be engaged!”

“That’s an amazing idea! I think I might do it too….”

While imitation is the sincerest way of flattering someone, it is more than appalling when a friend blatantly wants to use your fun idea. Take it as compliment that she loves your vision but steer her in the right direction. Suggest she personalise it a little more to fit her style and encourage brainstorming and ideas so yours aren’t so similar.
