A Modern Day Love Story: Lee + John's Old Hollywood Glam Wedding

They met in what they call a faraway land…

In today’s world, it’s not unusual to hear of love stories blooming over the internet… That’s the way Lee and John met and I for one am sure glad they did because their special day was gorrrrgeous from start to finish! The elegant wedding day featured an Old Hollywood flair, as black and white movies played in the background while purple and pinks lights danced across the walls as the party went on through the evening. Glamourous from start to finish, these two created a wedding day fit for a movie screen.

Don’t miss Lee’s gorgeous dresses, that’s right, she had two absolutely stunning dresses for the big day! If you’re going to have two, you’ve got to do it right, and Lee rocked it!

The Beginning

Lee and John’s love story began just like many other couples do in today’s modern world of dating, “in a faraway land… the internet.”

The Proposal

In a true romantic fashion, John planned a sweet and sentimental proposal. He popped the question “on a picnic at the beautiful Melbourne Botanical Gardens where we first kissed.”

Relationship Advice

“Find the one you love and always remember why you fell in love with that person to begin with.”

Lee’s Dress

“I love the look and feel of silk and lace! So, I picked both for my special day. For the Church Ceremony, I wore a soft and romantic ivory dress with a beaded lace sweetheart neckline and long veil. For the Evening Reception, I went vintage sexy to suit our Old Hollywood theme with the help of Anna Campbell’s stunning fitted lace creations.”

Could she have gotten any more glamorous?!

The Wedding Style

“We chose the elegant Theatre Room at Werribee Mansion and went Old Hollywood all the way…we both love music and art so it was perfect! We had some old black and white movies running throughout the evening with shades of pink and purple hues lighting up the walls to keep the mood enchanted and romantic.”

DIY Decor?

“Lots! We pretty much worked off an empty canvas and styled it with things and colours we both love. From flowers to art-deco styled vases, candleholders, lighting and ceiling to floor projections…. we had some wonderful suppliers and family who cared about our vision and helped pull everything together for us on the day.”

Special Moments

“How do I pick one?! Our first dance was pretty special for the both of us.”

Lee’s Planning Advice

1) The wedding is about you and your husband first and foremost.

2) Take it easy and enjoy planning it with him as it’s his day too and you’ll learn about each other.

3) You are beautiful – don’t go doubting this at any stage of the process. Ever.
