When it comes to wedding plans, there can be a lot of unexpected bumps and turns on the way to your big day. There will definitely be highs, lows and everything in between! Planning a wedding is like being the big CEO or manager of a company. You need to be super organized and manage your team members well. If you’re already super organized, this will probably be a breeze for you. Here are are few things you need to know about wedding plans.
Emotion
Every magazine and friend will remind you that this is one of the happiest days of your life and while this may be true, it can be a highly emotional time too. Expect joy, tears, arguments and everything in-between from now until your big day. Expect the unexpected when it comes to emotional triggers, including things like remembering your lost loved ones on the day. Personally, I get lumpy throats sitting at the back row of ANY big church event or wedding so I’m normally a goner!
Budget
It’s very rare that any couple will get to the end of their day without overspending a little on their budget. While you can do your best to trim the fat off with DIY or discounts, there are some things that just can’t be avoided! Big costs like your venue, the band, transport takes up the bulk of your spending while little sneaky bits like shoes for your flower girl, sign posts and wedding favours can crop up and provide a lot of hidden expenses for you.
RSVPs
Some guests you thought were shoo-ins may have a last minute hiccup and guests you never thought would show up RSVP within days of sending them out. Go figure! Plus expect some last minute show ups, which is why it’s always good to over book a little. We recommend about 5 – 10 % of who you already have booked for the day.
