How To Pair Your Flower Girl & page Boy

You have set the date, most importantly picked the venue and chosen your bridal party. Many couples tend to overlook the tiny tots of the group; your page boy and flower.

This is not done intentionally but it is a good idea to include them in some way before the chaos of the big day ensues, so they know exactly what is happening and get a feel for their outfits.

These two are the ones opening the ceremony.  Walking right before you and your bridesmaids, your guests will clap eyes on them first.

Before you skip up the aisle and off into married bliss, here are three important things to remember when pairing your page boy and flower girl.

Play Dress Up

Remember, your flower girl is just as important as everyone else in the bridal party. Even though they are little and sometimes not aware of how important their role really is, they want to look pretty too.

Having a role in a wedding is every little girl’s fairy tale, so play dress up and help to make their dreams come true.

To make your beautiful flower girl look like an angel floating up the aisle opt for a white dress. Alternatively choose a mini bridesmaid dress or match up to another colour from your wedding palette.

Now, we all know little boys live in their soccer gear! But ideally you want your ring bearer to suit up too. They are never too young to wear a bowtie and will look dapper in your wedding snaps wearing a carefully tailored Stellina boy suits.

Attention to Detail

Mini accessories to match their outfits will complete your style savvy little ones.

Elegant pearls, a pair of Mary Janes and a floral crown will make your flower girl look super cute while scattering petals up the aisle. Don’t go overboard with make-up, they are beautiful and innocent just the way they are. A smidge of lip gloss and pink blush will do just perfect.

Boys will be boys, make sure you invest in comfortable footwear for your ring bearer. After all, he will probably be buzzing around with loads of energy on the big day. Converse trainers are a great option to funk up a stiff looking suit.

Before you purchase any accessories or outfits make sure to consult your mini bridal party. They may be small but will have the biggest opinions!

Always Rehearse

Practice most certainly makes perfect in this case. It can be really hard to get smaller children to concentrate and behave on the big day.

On the other hand, they might be too nervous and choke in front of a large group of people.

In the run-up to your wedding be sure to devote a couple of hours to your page boy and flower girl.

Make sure they know what they are doing, and explain how important their part is in your special day.

At the same time make sure they are relaxed enough so they will not panic or become anxious moments before you walk up the aisle.
