How to Stay Energised on Your Wedding Day

How to Stay Energised on Your Wedding Day

There is no doubt a wedding day is pretty much like a marathon for any couple. An early start, getting ready, photos, a long ceremony, photos, a bite to eat (if you’re lucky), speeches, and plenty of dancing – all in 12+ hours. Let’s just say you wouldn’t be doing it every weekend.

With all of those activities, it would be pretty easy to fall into a slump half way through the day. And unless wedding siestas are going to become a new trend (if they do, we’ll be the first to give a full report), the changes are you’ll be active all day. Here are a few tips to stay energised on your wedding day.

Eat a Hearty Breakfast Full of Protein

It’s the truth, the first meal of the day will be the most important. Start the day on a positive note with a protein filled breakfast.

Avoid Red Meat, Sugar and Carbs

Ahh, three things we love (even together – yum). Tasty, but terrible for energy. Unless you want to stroll down the aisle slurping a can of Red Bull, this probably isn’t a great idea. If you really need a boost, try ginger tea in the morning.

Snack throughout the Day

Graze lightly every few hours. Dry crackers, fruit and water will keep you on a steady level sugar wise as well as staying hydrated. Remind your bridesmaid to include these in your bridal kit.

A quick cooling off

Visit the ladies and quickly splash your wrists with cool water. Without needing to touch up your make-up, this will quickly re-energise you and keep you refreshed. You can also keep your mind alert by chewing on some ice.
