Wedding Checklist - 4 weeks to go!

wedding checklist

Weddings are crazy stressful to plan. We know it can take forever before you even think of starting the wedding planning – we’re not going to lie, we’d be putting on the long finger too! Before you know it, it’s only a few weeks away and ready to pop ( the little baby which is your wedding that is). You probably have the basics fleshed out but it’s those nitty gritty details you want to be tackling at this stage. We’re not all born event planners but we do have some quick checklist tips for you to keep you in line in the last month of your wedding:

Organise Legalities

Kind of a biggy. Make sure you’ve registered to marry before the big day. Nothing worse than having to do paper work after the big day. This includes passports if you’re planning your honeymoon too. On the other hand, it could be a fun learning experience as a couple for you too… nah. We’ve even got a handy link for you and all. Aren’t we nice?

Shop For Formalwear

This means bridesmaids gear and groomsmen! We are huge HUGE fans of Queer Eye For The Straight Guy here at WeddingDates, so take a leaf from their books. It’s a little outdated but they still have great advice. Grooms, never rent your tux for the big day – you deserve the extra effort. Organise your dresses for your girls. Good wedding etiquette usually means covering the costs of the dresses, whether they’re individual or one off pieces. P.s, if anyone finds a link with tips from the Fab Five of Queer Eye please link us! Seriously, how great was that show?

Get Addresses for Guest List and Organise Wedding Stationery

We’ve spoken before about the idea of E-vites for your wedding – this is perfect for location weddings and tech savvy friends. Organising an E-vites should still look like it’s taken some time and effort in our books. Unless you’re as extragent as these guys, you can also find gorgeous templates for E-vites here!

Other checklist tips:

  • Hiring your wedding singer/band/DJ
  • Order wedding rings
  • Pre marriage counselling (if you’re getting married in a church)
  • Hen/Stag parties (gently nudge your best men and bridesmaids!)
  • Florists
