Wedding Colour Palette: How to Find out What Your Season Should Be

Ever wondered why some colours seem to look amazing on you when other seem to have you looking dull, blotchy and just tired? That is because we all have our own colour palettes that suit us, known as seasons. Deciding on your season could be a powerful way of picking your wedding colour palette (depending on your spouse’s season too) and could also be very helpful in choosing your bridesmaid’s dress colours. If you’re bridal party have very different seasonal tones, it may be a sign to go neutral with your palette too!

So, what’s your season? Well, if you head to any big store like Debenhams, a professional will be able to help you decide your colour palette in detail. Below is an indicator of seasons and tones to get you started. Summer and winter and known as cool seasons and autumn and spring are warmer tones. Summer and Spring are lighter versions of the tones and Summer and Autumn are deeper versions of the tones. Have fun deciding and let us know what you think is your palette.

Can’t decide on your season? There may be a chance that you’re neutral! That means most shades suit you but you probably lean a little towards one season a little more. Try the silver/gold test and see which one suits a little more. Silver, a cool colour and gold, a warm colour placed under your chin is a perfect test. Does one seem to illuminate your skin? Does the other seem to show blotches on your face or drag it down a little? The one that seems to brighten you up is a perfect indicator!

Another good indicator is the veins test. Look at the veins on your wrist. Warm seasons have greenish looking veins, cool seasons have blue coloured veins.
