Every single guest is still commenting on what an incredible day they had!
We can’t even put into words how perfect it was from start to finish!

Where to start.
Castle Green had everything we wanted. Beautiful, welcoming and down to earth.
We never felt out of place or anything was too much, We had great vendors too who were recommended through the hotel .

things for us, we couldn't praise high enough to the point we felt we were treated like family. So organised, friendly and kind. The respect we were shown was really good.

The place itself is just beautiful and varied. The day flowed so well .Our guests all enjoyed the venue also with a lot commentating how great it was, from the rooms, staff and food.
The meals we had for our wedding were superb and served very swiftly. It was impressive. Rooms fantastic.

If we could relive the day again, we'd do it at Castle Green every time.

We cannot thank you enough for our wonderful wedding reception!

From our first viewing we felt well looked after. Nicola always went above and beyond to get us answers and to deliver on our vision for the day, and in our meetings with her we always felt at ease. Nicola always seemed to have …

things under control even when we didn’t know the answers to her questions! Thank you to Nicola for answering all of our many emails back and forth and for helping bring our vision to life.

The day itself was perfect from beginning to end. The vendors recommended by the hotel were wonderful and everything looked amazing! All our arrangements were executed perfectly by Christine and the team. The staff were so warm and friendly and we truly felt well cared for. Whenever we would ask about arrangements for something, the reply was always “don’t worry we’ve got it all sorted, just enjoy the day” - and it was! We could not praise all the staff enough, what a fab team they are. If things went wrong, we had no idea, from our end everything ran so smoothly!

The food we picked was absolutely lovely and a lot of our guests told us how much they enjoyed the menu! All dietary requirements were taken care of without any fuss. Everyone also loved the build-a-burger (sadly we didn’t eat ours as we were too busy dancing, but we heard they were amazing!). Our room was gorgeous, we didn’t want to leave - thank you for our surprise bottle of bubbly!

Between Nicola’s expert planning and Christine and the F&B teams' hard work on the day, we had the most perfect reception. We could not recommend Castle Green Hotel more highly - our wedding day surpassed our expectations and it truly was the wedding of our dreams.

On the day, the staff were supportive and ensured that things went to plan, unfortunately due to weather we made the decision not to have the outside wedding and got married in the garden room, while this was our back up plan it was lovely and organised well , with photos being completed outside. It did not spoil the day at all.

very first place that me and my now husband went on holiday together, 13 years ago. We have been hooked on this venue ever since and have always admired its warm welcome and beauty, both inside and outside of its walls. We cannot thank Nicola and Claire enough for every single part of our Wedding planning process. Planning a wedding is equally exciting and stressful, with many details and alterations being made along the way. The stress was completely taken out of our hands and we were always made to feel fully supported with confidence along this journey. Christine was our wonderful wedding host and the day from start to finish flowed so beautifully. Each staff member, including the co-coordinators, chefs, waiters and bar/hotel staff were outstanding and multiple guests are still commenting on the great service to this day! Their praises deserve to be preached. The sun shone down so brightly on us that weekend and lit up the stunning hotel gardens and terrace even more than usual. I think even if it rained, the day would have been equally as amazing. It really feels like something special when you would not change one single thing about the day. As much as we'd love to redo it all over again because time goes so quickly, we wouldn't want anything to be different from the magical day it was. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Christine did a grand job herding up our guests on the day and the meal service and food quality was first class. We would have no hesitation in recommending Castle Green for a wedding, it is an excellent venue, particularly the smaller function room with the large terrace that comes into its own if it’s a warm sunny evening as we were lucky enough to enjoy.

arriving at the hotel to the moment we left, the staff were incredible and attentive. Kelly was one of the first bartenders we met upon arrival and she made every member of our families who were staying over feel welcomed and just had fun with all of us. She is a credit to the hotel. James’ meal at Alexanders was phenomenal; James has only heard great things from everyone who dined with him that Friday night. Speaking of food, that wedding breakfast was incredible, everyone has complimented our choices as well as the preparation of it all and the room was set up exactly how we wanted it to look which was even better. The evening celebration, which you very well know, was insane. Everyone had a ball dancing to the tracks DJ Gary Mills chose and it was an overall excellent day.

We want to say a massive thank you to you and all the team for an absolutely incredible wedding weekend, we knew you were good but we didn’t realise how good. Thank you so much for all you’re help and advice every step of the way. If we could do it all again, we would!

As locals in the area, we visited the majority of the wedding hotels in the Lakes and by comparison these guys were just miles ahead of everyone else. given outstanding customer service from the word go.. as a couple who are completely clueless about weddings she has been integral in helping us pull the big day together - she really knows her stuff, is organised, professional and stayed in touch the perfect amount. The venue itself has a cracking location overlooking Kendal which provides beautiful views of the castle, local fells and over to the Lake District, and we found the entire team to be as helpful as Nicola. There aren't many places that could house the 140 total guests we needed, plus sleep our travelling guests in the many rooms so this was a winner for us. Furthermore we had exceptional food on the day and the function rooms are a great size, so even for a big wedding like ours everyone had enough room, and access to the 2 huge bars which eliminated waiting times for drinks. I'm sure everyone loves their wedding day, but for us it went without a hitch, the staff were great, the room looked fab and we didn't have to think about a thing. All of our guests commented on how accommodating the hotel were and it just helped to create the fun, relaxed atmosphere we hoped we would have. Can't thank these guys enough, no wonder they keep winning all the awards!

We had to postpone the wedding twice which the hotel were very understanding about due to covid rules and restrictions. We had a lovely afternoon and evening at Castle Green, as did all our guests. The meal was excellent and appreciated by all. It was hot but not lukewarm and, everyone got what they had ordered and served in good time without lots of waiting between courses. The service was good. We had known cases …

where the top table had virtually finished before some guests had even been served: not so at Castle Green.

The rooms (Kendal suite) were excellent, well suited to our needs and those of all our guests. Having the use of the terrace was helpful.

There were some wonderful photo opportunities on the grounds during daylight and night on the terrace and in the gazebo.

All in all, it was a wonderful reception.

However, events like that don’t just happen. As you know, there had been some 18 months before our reception from when we made our first enquiry until our reception actually came to fruition. It was only meant to be about six months, but coronavirus intervened, and in that time, we had numerous meetings and many telephone calls with Castle Green Hotel. They were patient and friendly to deal with and came up with numerous suggestions, which we could incorporate into our wedding plans. We want to give a big thanks for not only their professionalism but also for their cheery and helpful approach. It was a pleasure to deal with you all.

holding and tough decisions to be made (we rescheduled on two occasions), but they were there every step of the way.

Everything was taken care of, and at the handover we could rest at ease knowing Christine had everything under control. The venue was prepared and dressed to perfection, the staff really welcoming, and the food was delicious (it’s even converted my husband to salads!) Even after the “big day” the staff were still attentive and welcoming, so you got a real sense that they meant it and weren’t just putting it on, which was lovely.

We intend to visit every year for our anniversary, and would recommend Castle Green Hotel in a heartbeat. We only wish we could do it all again!

was absolutely on board with anything we asked (even the silly bits), we felt totally at ease and supported by the venue and staff. As we are all aware the pandemic hit and this led to difficult times and stresses for both us, and the venue. It was absolutely amazing to work with the Castle Green, and very easy to come to agreements in all aspects of our wedding, making it a totally stress free situation. We both feel that even given the dreadful covid, the Castle Green was always fair and listened when we had concerns. Shortly after this, we finally got back on track with a new date and were helped by the lovely Claire, who again was totally on board with everything we wanted. Claire talked us through everything, and checked and double checked all the tiny details. I have learned that wedding stress is a real thing, and can make you say and do things you wouldn’t normally do. Claire was amazing at accepting our craziness and turning it into wedding perfection. In and amongst all the craziness, Nicola answered our phone calls at all times and was fantastic at getting the information we needed or passing on messages in very little time. Thank you for your help.
The evening before we met with Christine. She explained everything and went through the day bit by bit. She even put up with our last minute worries and gripes. Despite all this her and her team managed to deliver the most perfect day. Not only was this day exactly as we had visioned, it was above and beyond.

We booked our wedding ceremony for February 2020. We were due to get married in June 2021. Then the world went into lockdown!

We always wanted a small intimate wedding of 30 guests from the very start. Our ceremony was out in the Gazebo. The resident pianist Fred Binley played our choice of music. The government guidelines meant we had to have smaller spaced out tables. But it did not change anything on the day.
We chose an afternoon tea, followed by a BBQ on the terrace.

Our Suite was incredible! Recently refurbished to an extremely high standard. A super king bed with a double shower and amazing views across the gardens towards Kendal Castle.

A big thank you to Claire Laughton, Christine Joanne and Josh, who looked after us on the day. And, of course, all the Castle Green hotel team throughout our weekend.

over a year ago whose planning was meticulous to the actual day looked after by the wonderful Christine everything ran smoothly, nothing was to much trouble. All staff were amazing, friendly & very helpful. I especially must mention the chefs - the food be it in the hotel restaurant, Alexander’s and definitely for the wedding breakfast was superb.

We have been to this hotel many times and have always been impressed with the level of service received. There is refurbishment of some of the bedrooms at present but our rooms were beautiful. The scenery is stunning and we were delighted after a forecast for rain it didn’t happen and although cool the sun did shine.

We all had a wonderful time, have got lots of fantastic memories & pictures - would definatley recommend this great hotel.

All the staff were very polite and attentive, we couldn't have asked for a better day, the day ran so smoothly thanks to Christine our wedding Co-ordinator.
We ate breakfast on both mornings and they offer a wide range of breakfast buffet which you can just help yourself to, they bring tea/coffee and toast to the table and you can help yourself to anything else and all food was of high quality.

Lovely day, great! Everything faultless. All our farmer friends said how good the food was.

We married here on August 16th 2016. I stayed in 139, prior to our wedding.

The ceremony was conducted in the Gazebo. We had an outstanding day. The sun shone down on us as we said our vows. Then we had bucks fizz.

main of chicken, mash and roast potatoes, parsnips and buttered veg. Dessert was sticky toffee and ice cream. We had coffee/ tea and chocolates. Then the wedding cake. We regularly visit Castle Green and the food was brilliant as always.

The new patio furniture was fun to sit on and soak up the rays. We held the wedding breakfast in the Kendal suite that allows a more private wedding area outdoors.

The flowers were beautiful and were included in the package. Also included was: -

I knew from the moment I walked into the Castle Green over a year ago without an appointment and just hoping for a quick show around the hotel that this was the place I had to get married. Nicola was amazing, considering I had no appointment she spent over an hour going through all the wedding …

packages and showing me round the hotel - the kind of customer service you want on your special day. Over the next year the wedding team were amazing, answering my constant emails, queries and changes I wanted to make with no hassle.
The day itself (2nd September) ran perfectly with Christine hosting. The weather stayed lovely for us and we managed to get married outside in the gazebo which was just perfect. We made full use of the beautiful gardens for our wedding photos.
The food was amazing, everyone commented on how beautiful it was and how full they were! Bar staff were wonderful, everyone rallied round to make sure I could just relax and enjoy my day and the guests had a wonderful time.
Lovely surprise of an upgrade to the executive suite and a bottle of Prosecco on ice and a box of chocolates on our return to the room - little touches that make such a huge difference.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for a wedding or just a night's stay, you cannot fault any of the staff here, everyone always has a smile on their face and are genuinely happy to help. Thank you for our special day :)

We where very lucky with the weather and giving us access to the outside terrace was a brilliant idea and appreciated.

When considering the cost we feel we got super value and wouldn't hesitate in recommending Castle Green for a wedding.

All our needs were met regarding our stay and the discussion I had regarding our wedding final touches put me so much at ease.
The morning of my wedding I was talking to a bride and her family who had got married a couple days before with over 100 guests. I felt a little bit defeated as they spoke so highly of the staff and their day and how much care and attention they received. As my wedding was for less than 20 guests I thought we would just get forgot about compared to that. I was so wrong!
The staff couldn't do enough, everything I had been planning was executed perfectly even adding little touches I'd never thought of. Staff went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect and made me feel like the most important person in the world.
Even little touches like bringing things over where ever me and my guests moved and tidying everything in our room and adding such thoughtful little touches, just made the day a fairytale.

at her job, along with Janine, some days I’m sure they thought I was loosing the plot with the stress of a wedding, but were always so calming and efficient.

The food on the day was superb and a lot of our guests commented on this, along with the service. On the day of the wedding we were looked after by Christine the banqueting manager and she made sure everything ran like clockwork.

The night before the wedding we had a lot of guests staying over and we ate in the Alexanders pub attached to the hotel. Again this food was brilliant and good value for money, there were 44 of us and we literally took over the pub for two hours, was lovely to all be able to eat and socialise together.

One of our reasons for choosing the Castle Green were its location and being easy to find for our travelling guests and mainly the grounds, I know you’re not always blessed with the weather but luckily we did have a sunny day and have some gorgeous photos of the grounds. We were also lucky enough to be able to have our ceremony in the Kendal Suite which has its own terrace with gorgeous views of Kendal ( I say lucky as no other wedding or function was booked that day enabling us to use this room) it was lovely to go outside onto the terrace immediately after the wedding ceremony to have drinks and canapés.

It was my birthday the day after the wedding and on the wedding night when we got back to the bridal suite there was a birthday balloon in the room along with a card from Nicola and the team and I thought that was a really nice thing to do. We can’t wait to return to Castle Green in the future and again just want to say a massive thank you to everyone involved in the wedding.
