promptly to correspondence and answered my many queries. Even though the coordinator on the day was not someone I had even spoken to before (which worried me), the handover was seamless and the day went without a hitch! I provided most of the decoration for the castle myself and we had several extras (cocktails, fireworks) and I was impressed at the smooth running of every element - many of my guests complimented the team too. We did have a few niggles with rooms the day before but these were quickly and efficiently resolved.

The gorgeous venue speaks for itself and we have some lovely photos to remember our day. I loved the quirky style of the castle; with its beautiful staircase, fabulous fireplace and old library it certainly gave our guests plenty to talk about even before they saw the grandeur of the main room. All the food was lovely and the wedding breakfast was delicious, again receiving many compliments.

The venue provided a DJ and I was able to send a playlist of "must have" songs which was great.

I'd definitely recommend Hazlewood Castle (they also have a chapel) to anyone looking for a historic and interesting venue with lovely grounds. For information, I had 65 day guests, increasing to 95 at night.

all the questions to ask us to ensure our day was exactly as we dreamed it. She was flexible around those last minute changes thanks to difficult guests, and she was happy to add on a couple of extra, not from our menu meals for those who last minute shared allergies. You hear horror stories of problems with the venue, but this couldn't have been more of a breeze. We felt so special it was like we were the only couple getting married there, even though they were back to back weddings.
On the day, Liz and her team were brilliant and made the day not only go smoothly but exceed our expectations. She ensured the bride and groom always had a drink in our hands, and was good at making sure the bar was well tended enough that guests didn't have to queue for long. She had the perfect balance between making sure we were happy and checking details with us, while also leaving us alone to enjoy the evening.
All the guests commented on what an incredible venue it was (including some saying it made the day or was the best they'd ever seen) and complimented the incredible job the staff were doing.
From the very start of the day, featuring getting ready in the unbelievably huge bridal sweet and breakfast with bubbly, to the end of the night everything was so perfect. The decorations were put up without us even noticing, canapés were brought round at the ideal times and the dinner service was exceptional.
I can't recommend Hazlewood Castle enough, and would love to be part of another wedding there - even if it wasn't my own - because I know it'll be a better experience than I would have at any other venue.

outside, this was set up beautifully. We chose an intimate wedding day and our privacy was respected and well balanced ensuring staff were around as needed.

whole event was. We had numerous meetings with Melissa to discuss all of the details, and all of our wishes were carried out meticulously!

As soon as I arrived at the venue on the morning of our wedding, any nerves I had been feeling, disappeared as soon as I met Pete, our wedding coordinator for the day! He took complete control and ensured that everyone (most importantly- me and my new husband) was very well looked after!

The food was incredible! Such a lot of choice for vegetarians and vegans and again, all of our guests commented on how good it was!

We stayed in the hotel on the night of our wedding, as did a lot of our guests. The rooms were a very high standard and the breakfast was delicious, with lots of choice!

We were so impressed with the customer service throughout our stay. We really did feel like royalty!

our reception. As with every wedding, there were a few hiccups (which was nothing to do with Hazlewood themselves) and I was starting to get a little stressed. Before I could even think it, someone appeared with a glass of Rosé. Perfections! On the morning itself, breakfast was delivered to our suite for myself and the bridesmaids. This was very appreciated.
When we returned we were greeted with a glass of bubbles and the staff helped to keep our guests happy whilst we had our photos taken. The setting was beautiful and worth every penny. The staff then helped us keep everything running smoothly. They even packed our decorations for us to collect the next morning.
Everyone we spoke to said it was the best wedding they've been to and a large part of it was the service we received at Hazlewood. The staff at Hazlewood were incredibly accommodating and I cannot thank them enough.

feeling the warmth and confidence we were given by the Hazlewood Castle team. The service and communication was excellent throughout planning for our big day. We were always reassured and made to feel in total confidence throughout our journey. The big day arrived and we met Michael who was looking after us both on the day and Master of ceremonies on the day. On our wedding day he coordinated our suppliers in making sure the ornamentation of the deco was to a very high standard, and looked perfect. Michael made sure that at any point during our special day he was available and attended to our every need. Nothing was too much trouble for him and always did this with a smile. We had numerous comments on the day regarding how beautiful the Castle was and how the service during our superb wedding breakfast was impeccable, the food was delicious and every course was at the correct pace. The service from the team was flawless we could not have asked for more. After the wedding breakfast the transformation took place for the evening reception, which was seamless and we were absolutely delighted with the room and yet again michael was on hand to make sure everything went to plan. Both my Husband and I would have no hesitation in highly recommending Hazlewood Castle as a Wedding Venue. we would like to extend our huge thanks in making our wedding day as perfect as it could have been. Thank you for our beautiful memories which we will always cherish.

with Hazlewood Castle. We couldn't believe how well priced it was for what you receive and every single member of staff was incredibly helpful. The planning was effortless throughout, they had everything covered. The food was stunning and good sized portions. The actual day of the wedding, again, was effortless! We didn't have to think of anything, the team worked so hard and everything ran incredibly smoothly, not a single problem throughout the day. We had the most wonderful wedding day and if we had the opportunity to do it all again we would 100% choose Hazlewood Castle again. We have even returned to the venue since our special day for a Christmas event and all of the staff were again so lovely and welcoming. It truly is the most perfect venue to celebrate at.

person contact often, she arranged everything we wanted and was always available to change and update things as and when. We always felt welcome at the venue. On the day every single member of staff was incredible and made our day so special. Our guests and vendors commented on how lovely the staff were. It’s so worth the price - you get what you pay for here and that is an outstanding service. The night before the wedding Kelly helped us to arrange a small family meal and spa experience this was such a wonderful diner detail, she allowed us to bring in all of our decorations and we were able to roam the castle at free will - Liv introduced herself the evening before the wedding and found us during the night to show us the set up for the day (which she had done perfectly how I wanted). The next morning Kelly had Prosecco, orange juice & pastries sent to the bridal suite and checked in on us with such a bright, easing smile. The day progressed with the help of Liv who ensured all guests were happy, we were enjoying ourselves and no disasters happened. Everything went better than I could’ve asked for. The food on the day was just as delicious as when we previewed the menu (including the canapés) and the alcohol provided was Divine. The provided DJ and dance floor were great and he worked with our saxophonists to play during our first dance and hereafter. Our stay in the honeymoon suite was wonderful and the breakfast the next day was just what everyone needed after a long night fuelled with booze! If I was to do it all again there is not a single thing I would change and I will always recommend Hazlewood Castle to newly engaged couples.

couldn't have been better. The hotel facilitated a pre-wedding day meal with close family which was intimate and memorable and then went on to set up on the wedding day itself beautifully and with no detail overlooked.
We booked rooms in the castle itself for our closest family and they were all so individual and beautiful - we had a sneaky peak at all of them. Our own room was lovely with huge arch windows overlooking the grounds, which were a great backdrop for photos on the morning of the wedding.
The civil ceremony within Hazlewood was just perfect for us and I really remember the staff all stood watching me walk into the room to meet my husband - they were all genuinely happy and their lovely smiles felt very much part of that moment, settling any pre-ceremony nerves.
The food was top quality with all of our guests raving about it for months afterwards (especially that salmon starter!). At no point in the day were we looking for anything to be done - everything had been thought of and all of the staff worked incredibly hard to make it perfect. We ended our wedding day with a band and then a firework display to music, which with the beautiful backdrop of the castle, is something that none of us present will ever forget.
I can't recommend the venue and the staff highly enough - what a lovely team of people.
It felt like a real privilege to get married in such a beautiful place, with such a rich & varied history - so much has happened in that castle and we are only the tiniest part of that (still part of it though!).
We both feel very lucky and can't wait to return for our first anniversary in December this year.

guided through options and discussed in detail our day. Nothing was too much. On the day itself Adam who was looking after us was absolutely amazing. Running back to the room to get some umbrellas as it had just started raining. Guiding us down to the woodland with 3 boys under 4 to control. Once the ceremony was finished we were given a minute in the tipi to take everything in. It was even more perfect than we imagined. Everything was in place and looked absolutely stunning. Once the speeches were made the food was ready, hot, delicious and ready for our guests. We had the most amazing day. Everyone commented that this was the most amazing setting and nothing like a wedding they had been to previously. Our wedding day was like a dream and given the chance would not hesitate to do everything again. We loved every minute. Would recommend to anyone that listens to book a wedding at Hazelwood especially the woodland setting. You would not regret it.

itself was perfect, we got married in the pagoda lined with cherry blossom, followed by a blessing in the chapel! We had our wedding breakfast in the Great Hall with a hog roast and fireworks in the evening! Adam was our event manager on the day and he was in full control and made sure everything went as planned! My only wish is to be able to do it all again!!

venue even gave us a couple of free drinks that we'd put on our room. On the day, the staff kept us in check to make sure everything ran smoothly and there were no timing delays. They were so professional, set the room up exactly how we wanted it and they were as excited about our wedding as we were. I couldn't have asked for a better wedding day, or better wedding venue and staff. Absolutely incredible and would 100% recommend them. Hand on heart I can say my wedding and all the planning was 100% stress free - they make it so easy and like the dream day it's meant to be!

were met in full, and she was seemingly unphased at my request to have a couple of donkeys as a surprise for my groom on leaving the Chapel!!! I felt that I had a second 'Maid of Honour' rather than a wedding planner!
Hazlewood offers the opportunity to have a Christian Blessing in it's on-site Chapel. Father Ian, the Chapel's Priest, worked closely with Castle employees to provide the most personal of services in the delightful St Leonard's Chapel. This really made the day exta-special and absolutely personal to us - this was one of the reasons we chose this venue, and they certainly did not disappoint.
And on the day... Jenny was as amazing as Kelly had been. She was our MC, and so much more. She foresaw problems before they materialised, including sorting out timings when the aforementioned donkeys failed to make their appearance, distributing the flowers and confetti when our ushers were confused, and making sure that all members of the bridal party were aware of any changes. Perhaps the most significant thing she did was to make sure that my son, who was taken ill on the day, was very well looked after, including bringing toast and sliced apple when he was too ill to eat the food that was provided, without any fuss; I was unaware of any of this until afterwards, which now makes me wonder how many other issues were dealt with without my knowledge.
The team at Hazlewood Castle made our day the very best it could possibly have been.

experience from start to finish, ensured that we had the wedding of our dreams. It is clear that the staff really do care about their guests and want everything to be perfect for their stay. They even helped us to find a wedding cake maker when our original choice let us down.
The venue is breathtaking and all the staff work endlessly to ensure that every expectation is met. No ask was too much for this team and they were a joy to be around. Their knowledge and insight when planning events is superb. On the wedding day the staff made us all feel amazing and invested time ensuring that all the guests were happy whilst ensuring that the day ran smoothly.
The food served at this venue is out of this world and caters for everyone’s tastes. The stunning Castle and grounds are meticulously kept tidy and manicured, yet the venue has a warm, welcoming feel to it and it only takes a minute to settle in and feel at home there. On the day after our wedding we really didn’t want to leave and we are still smiling today thinking back to that special day. Hazlewood Castle is where dreams come true and I could not think of a worthier winner!

event went like a dream and the staff worked incredibly hard to make it as memorable a day as we have ever had. The additional touches ( a magician, musician, firework display) kept us entertained throughout and the food was exceptional. If you are ever considering a wedding function, it would be hard to top this place - no insistence on 80+ guests as a minimum, flexible on our requirements, responsive to requests and, compared with some, great value. Hats off to Emma, Roz and Melissa in particular, as well as Father Ian, the most entertaining clergy we have ever seen. Highly recommended! Simon & Debbie

us a full history when finding out my dad was born at Hazlewood; demonstrating flexibility and adaptability and catering for my husband's gluten free allergies; regular contact and feedback both face to face and via email; personal service e.g. the Waitress who looked after us when we did the meal sampling came to find us the day of our wedding to say congratulations; the whole team were attentive without being intrusive and helped deliver the most perfect day. the whole experience very personal, she came across as very caring and invested in our big day. I am a very particular organiser and absolutely nothing was too much trouble...even our ever changing meal plan! Unfortunately I had a terrible experience with Imagine Spa at Hazlewood for my hen do 1 week before the wedding, a lot of planning and organisation went into the day as I had a large group and they lost the entire list and did not tell me...the day was a disaster and resulted in us all leaving without paying and having to make a complaint. Kelly managed to put my mind at rest and allow me to trust in the team taking care of the day. The wedding co-ordinator came to see me the evening before to go through absolutely everything in full and also arranged for a bottle of champagne to be put into my room - that was a lovely touch. She also came to see me first thing to go over everything again to make sure I was fully happy with all the choices and the run through of the day. The day went off without a hitch!! The staff were absolutely AMAZING and every single guest attending, including the bridal party felt extremely special and their every need was catered for. The team watched my husband and I from a distance to ensure that they anticipated every need that we had throughout the day....everything I wanted was there before I even had to ask including glasses of champagne whenever I wanted one!! I saw no hotel guests on the day which was fantastic and all our wedding items were carefully packed up into boxes for us to take home. This hotel was beyond amazing and I would recommend to anyone wishing for a perfect wedding day!!!
