Mercure brand and deserve recognition with the way they dealt with us and our guests.

Special mentions to Amy and Lance who were superb and nothing was too much trouble.

You have beautiful venues within the hotel and the Mill and we wish you every success in the future.

We had such a good day and everything went to plan, even the weather we ordered was on time.

We will be back!

All our Love
Sam and James

Madeley Court was the first venue myself and my husband looked at shortly after getting engaged and I instantly loved it. It is a unique and full character and the exclusivity of the Mill building was a massive appeal along with the 24/7 bar for residents and being able to reserve all hotel rooms

for our guests. After viewing another 2 venues we knew we could only imagine getting married at Madeley Court so reserved our date and began planning. We experienced some minor issues with guests booking rooms and also when the wedding co-ordinator changed but generally the staff were responsive and helpful with my many queries, questions and changes. Whilst planning we were also particularly impressed by the food choices for the main meal thoroughly enjoying our meal taste testing and free wine! Although the wedding co-ordinator wasn’t present on our big day, the running of the day had been clearly documented and agreed and the staff that guided us through were brilliant – massive thanks to Michelle, David and Kerry. The day itself was seamless, the staff worked hard to rectify the odd little problem (such as CD’s not working and missing table decorations) so much so we weren’t aware of this until the next day. The Mill is a beautiful setting for a ceremony, it was big enough to house our guests while still feeling intimate – a lot of our guests commented on how gorgeous the beams and other features are! The grounds of the hotel provide plenty of opportunity for wedding photographs, from the courtyard to the lake and even inside by the piano and fireplace, our photographer captured so many different moments with the hotel providing the perfect backdrop. Back to the food… the wedding breakfast was great, good portions with plenty of potatoes, side vegetables and sauce/gravy along with a choice of wine and bubbly for the toasts. In the evening staff were on hand if needed, we had asked for 2 staff on the bar at all times but on occasion there was only 1 which lead to a slightly longer wait and also they ran out of a few things behind the bar (not sure this is the fault of the hotel though perhaps a reflection on our guests and their drinking habits!). We had fireworks which were set off from the playing fields by the entrance to the car park, guests stood on the driveway and ramp from the hotel so there was plenty of room and it was also nice that guests could pop outside for fresh air if they wanted and that those staying at the hotel had chance to go back to their rooms to freshen up. We paid a premium to have room 50 on the wedding night (hubby’s choice) and although it is huge – biggest bed I’ve ever slept in and a massive bathroom – we didn’t really get the best use of it as it was a late night. There was also a fan or light making a noise which kept me awake, when I reported this to reception they refunded the additional cost for the room which I felt rectified things. My only other quibble is there weren’t sufficient family rooms for our guests so some had to book 2 separate rooms but again this couldn’t be helped. Overall, I would highly recommend Madeley Court as a wedding venue, it is excellent value for money especially given its old fashioned charm, history and beautiful features – it is a romantic venue which can accommodate a decent number of guests (we had 65 during the day and approx. 130 in total for the night) without feeling cramped, the layout of the Mill lends itself well to all aspects of the day from the bride entering up the stairs, getting married under the beamed arch, plenty of room outside for photographs and guest to mingle and the separate bar area downstairs for those wanting a drink and chat away from the disco/entertainment upstairs! I personally loved every minute of our wedding day and cannot wait to return to Madeley Court for our anniversary for many years to come, it really is a hidden gem.

dressers by trade and putting your wedding day in someone else's hands filled us with fear.... it was perfection! The amazing staff had set the place up exactly as we would have done. The wedding breakfast was A1 and the evening buffet was amazing. Every single one of our guests were in awe of the venue, the rooms and the graciousness of the staff. To all of the staff from the guys behind the scenes to the front of house and management...thankyou a million times. You made our wedding day amazing ! We will remember our perfect day forever. make the day personal to us. The actual day was amazing the staff, the food (on the day and in general a definite must for a romantic meal before or after the big day) and the hotel itself were amazing and we were totally at ease and relaxed and everyone commented on how professional yet extremely fun the day was it was perfect. It was so different fron any other hotel we looked at and having the Mill to yourself without the over inflated prices of exclusive use we would have been charged at other venues was a definite bonus and makes the day feel your own! I could go on all day about how great it was and i would definitely recommend madeley to any prospective brides and grooms and it will always have a special place in our hearts!!
