Our beautiful Coed-Y-Mwstwr, a charming Victorian mansion set in Bridgend in a leafy, wooded hillside with far-reaching views across the verdant rolling pastures of the Vale of Glamorgan and beyond to the north Devon coast. It began life in 1888 as a bustling family home to liberal MP Arthur John WiIliams and his wife, Rose.

Surrounded in the romance of the ‘Whispering Trees’, the Coed-Y-Mwstwr provides a whimsical backdrop for those picture perfect moments. Escape to the manicured gardens, the wild woods or cosy fireplaces, you’ll find beauty around every corner.

Immortalised in timeless beauty, our elegant Eliot Suite is located in the original part of the 19th Century Victorian Mansion. Say ‘I do’ beneath a beautiful high dome ceiling and classic chandeliers. This haven of charm and romance is the perfect setting to host your wedding ceremony and also an intimate wedding breakfast of between 20-60 guests.

The Hendre Suite is at the heart of the Coed-Y-Mwstwr Hotel. Adorned with high oak beamed ceilings, classic chandeliers and breath-taking views through its tri-fold doors, the Hendre is the most sought after suite to host between 70-170 guests for your ceremony and wedding breakfast. It’s own private bar, patio and lounge makes this versatile suite the ideal location for your celebrations.

Finally, nestled in our secret garden is a beautifully modern new addition to The Coed Y Mwstwr, our Folly. With full glass sliding doors and a retractable roof, this amazing space offers a special sun trap but also shelter from our unpredictable Welsh weather. By taking the inside outside, you can celebrate from sunrise until sunset for up to 100 guests

We cannot recommend the Coed Y Mwstwr enough!
They were absolutely superb and ensured we had the wedding day we have always dreamed of.

During the lead up, they were extremely communicative and no question or query went unanswered. The handover meetings were so helpful and Megan and the team …

helped to alleviate any worries we had.

On the day itself, Tegan, Paul and the team went above and beyond to ensure everything went without a hitch. They were extremely attentive and ensured that we as the bride and groom were aware of decisions that were being made, but without placing any stress on us.

There were so many people working and they were all so kind and helpful. The guests commented on how smooth everything was.
The food was amazing and we had so many compliments from our guests. They allowed us to create our own bespoke food and drink packages so that we could have what worked for us.

The venue itself couldn’t have been better- we made use of the Folly and the Hendre suite which led out to a patio area. This was perfect for the evening.
The whole team were so helpful and we are so glad we decided to have our wedding at the Coed!

The ceremony room and the wedding breakfast room were just perfect. Thank you for helping our suppliers to set up. The rooms were absolutely beautiful.

Thank you to Paul for showing us around the breakfast room's final set-up and announcing us to our guests. He was so lovely and kind.

Thank you to the amazing chefs, waiters, and waitresses who helped bring out our delicious food. The food was incredible, and the guests gave us so many compliments throughout the day.
Including the hog roast in the evening.

Thank you to all the bar staff for serving throughout the day and night. You were fab.

From the moment we first viewed the Coed-Y-Mwstwr, we knew it was the right place for us. The staff were so welcoming (we just had this lovely warm feeling and got the sense that we would be so well looked after), and the venue itself is beautiful. We had our ceremony in the Elliot Suite, our drinks reception outside in the folly and surrounding gardens, our wedding breakfast in the Hendre Suite, and in the evening, we utilised the patio area. You can really make the most of all the great spaces they have to offer. The communication leading up to the day was faultless, and the team were always on hand to answer any queries we had. They were so thorough, and the day itself ran seamlessly. We were so attentively looked after; if anything went wrong, we certainly didn't know about it! Thank you to the entire team, particularly Rachel, Paul, and Megan, with whom we had regular dealings. To sum it all up, the staff are wonderful, the venue is beautiful, the food was delicious, and the service was fab. We had the best day and would highly recommend this venue to everyone.

We got married here recently. What can we say? It was an amazing day!! All our friends and family commented on how beautiful the venue and grounds were. The food for both the day and evening was outstanding, and the staff was attentive to a rather large wedding!
