Our beautiful Coed-Y-Mwstwr, a charming Victorian mansion set in Bridgend in a leafy, wooded hillside with far-reaching views across the verdant rolling pastures of the Vale of Glamorgan and beyond to the north Devon coast. It began life in 1888 as a bustling family home to liberal MP Arthur John WiIliams and his wife, Rose.

Surrounded in the romance of the ‘Whispering Trees’, the Coed-Y-Mwstwr provides a whimsical backdrop for those picture perfect moments. Escape to the manicured gardens, the wild woods or cosy fireplaces, you’ll find beauty around every corner.

Immortalised in timeless beauty, our elegant Eliot Suite is located in the original part of the 19th Century Victorian Mansion. Say ‘I do’ beneath a beautiful high dome ceiling and classic chandeliers. This haven of charm and romance is the perfect setting to host your wedding ceremony and also an intimate wedding breakfast of between 20-60 guests.

The Hendre Suite is at the heart of the Coed-Y-Mwstwr Hotel. Adorned with high oak beamed ceilings, classic chandeliers and breath-taking views through its tri-fold doors, the Hendre is the most sought after suite to host between 70-170 guests for your ceremony and wedding breakfast. It’s own private bar, patio and lounge makes this versatile suite the ideal location for your celebrations.

Finally, nestled in our secret garden is a beautifully modern new addition to The Coed Y Mwstwr, our Folly. With full glass sliding doors and a retractable roof, this amazing space offers a special sun trap but also shelter from our unpredictable Welsh weather. By taking the inside outside, you can celebrate from sunrise until sunset for up to 100 guests

Throughout the whole planning process, the team was always quick to reply and keen to help with their responses to all our queries. Every supplier we spoke to who had worked there before said how brilliant the Coed y Mwstwr team is, and every conversation we had with them assured us that we were in safe hands.

Our wedding day couldn’t have been more perfect. The ceremony took place in the Elliot Suite, which is such a beautiful room. Paul worked so hard on the day and was absolutely brilliant, ensuring we were happy with everything. Megan also did a fantastic job of guiding us and letting us know what to do every step of the way in the lead-up to the ceremony. The whole team went above and beyond to make the day completely seamless.

The food was the best at any wedding we’ve been to, and we received many compliments from the guests. So many of our guests have said how relaxed and beautiful the day was, and for us, it truly was the best day of our lives. We would recommend the Coed y Mwstwr to anyone.

The minute we walked into Coed- Y- Mwstwr we knew this would be our wedding venue. We had planned to see a few more venues following Coed but as we were sitting in the foyer going over details both of us said that we did not want to visit anywhere else as we had a gut feeling about Coed.

the wedding planning, all of our questions were answered very quickly and fully. A question would pop into my head at 10 p.m., and when I woke the next morning, it would be answered!! All the meetings went really well, and Rachael made us feel completely at ease with everything.

On the day, every single staff member was amazing! We felt so looked after from start to finish. We were made to feel so special and a priority to all the staff. This helped our day run completely smoothly and without a hitch. We were also very calm and at ease because of this!

We are so happy we chose Coed-Y-Mwstwr as our wedding venue. From the moment we stepped inside in July 2022, we knew it was the venue for us. The staff took their time to show us around and go through every single detail with us, which continued throughout the whole process of planning the wedding. …

Nothing was ever too much trouble for them and we knew any queries or concerns we had would be responded to promptly.
A special shoutout to Meg, who is absolutely amazing, and we cannot thank her enough. She reassured us of any worries we had and took control of herself when needed.
Also a big thank you to Paul who helped coordinate our day, lots of our guests mentioned how great you were.

friendly and approachable, and nothing was too much trouble for anyone. On the morning of the wedding, I had breakfast brought up to the room for myself and the maid of honour whilst the rest of the bridal party went down to the restaurant. Even little things like moving all of my things from the room I got ready in over to the Bridal Suite for the night were a huge help. A special thanks to Oliver, whose exceptional care and attention to detail ensured that everything ran smoothly. Oliver went above and beyond on our wedding day and the night before during our family meal. His warmth and professionalism put us at ease and allowed us to enjoy every moment fully. We also want to highlight Skye, who was incredibly friendly and caring to all our guests. Skye’s positive energy and genuine kindness made everyone feel welcome and well taken care of, adding a wonderful touch to our celebration. She even took time to approach myself (the bride) as she noticed I hadn’t been up to the evening buffet and put a plate up for me in the kitchen to grab when I wanted it. The venue itself is breathtaking, with so many beautiful photo opportunities. The moment our guests arrived, they were captivated by the charm and elegance of Coed-Y-Mwstwr. The Hendre Suite, where we held our ceremony, was the perfect place to get married. Its sophisticated décor and intimate atmosphere created an unforgettable setting for our vows. Coed-Y-Mwstwr exceeded our expectations in every way, and we highly recommend it to any couple looking for a perfect wedding venue. Thank you again for making our special day so memorable.

Where to start! From the moment we came across Coed-Y-Mwstwr Hotel we were captivated and immediately booked a show around. The drive to the grounds is simply stunning, and it was a shock to us that the first venue we found would be where we tied the knot! In comparison to other venues, we found …

ourselves constantly comparing and stating that CYM had this and that, and the layout/flow of the venue was perfect.
Then we met Rachel who showed us around and helped visualise our day and how it would look at CYM (not many co-ordinators did this at other places...!) - following this, we just knew, it had to be CYM. The communication and planning from the whole team is flawless, there was nothing they couldn't help with or answer, they are truly incredible and I feel lucky to have had them working behind the scenes for our day.
THE DAY! It was simply perfect, with the help of the team getting everything in the right place and how polite they were throughout the day, again, nothing was a problem and everyone was so helpful! Even with running to get me a tissue as I shed a nervous tissue before I walked down the aisle. I honestly cannot recommend this venue and the team highly enough - at every meeting and visit, we were always offered refreshments, and the whole team always had a smile on their face - they are miracle workers, and I am proud to have had our special day at CYM - I couldn't have imagined going anywhere else (coming from a Wedding Photographer who has seen a lot of venues across South Wales!)
