Hazlewood Castle is set within seventy-seven acres of tranquil parkland, enjoying an idyllic rural location with ease of access and equal distance between Leeds & York.

Our Castle is steeped in a history of Kings and Knights. Having been sensitively restored and converted into a fabulous destination offering 32 luxury bedrooms, stunning grounds and an award winning restaurant, we offer an excellent service which makes every event a truly memorable occasion.

Your wedding day is very special to us and we at Hazlewood pride ourselves in attention to detail in every aspect, from the planning of your menus to the timings of your ceremony.

Our spectacular Great Hall can accommodate weddings for up to one hundred and twenty guests, or we can hold up to four-hundred guests in our Clear Garden Marquee within our grounds.

We have several elegant private rooms, a number of which are licensed for Civil Ceremonies.

As one of the few venues in Yorkshire able to offer an outdoor ceremony, Hazlewood’s Pagoda is available for a beautiful wedding ceremony or blessing for up to 100 guests. Take advantage of the Cherry Blossom orchard and the stunning Yorkshire scenery – just requires dry weather!

Additionally, we are proud to be able to offer our beautiful and historic St. Leonard’s Chapel, to complement your civil marriage with a blessing.

For those who like to be closer to nature, we are also proud to be able to offer our Woodland Weddings! Located within the 77 acres of woodlands Hazlewood Castle is home to, with its very own Pagoda for your Civil Ceremony it really does offer a unique and tranquil setting for your big day.

We have thought about every aspect of your wedding, and have designed bespoke wedding packages to help relieve the stress of organising your special day.

From intimate gatherings to an elaborate wedding celebration, we have something at Hazlewood Castle for everyone.

We will provide you with your own dedicated Wedding Planner who will look after you every step of the way, from your initial booking through to the finer details of the day itself.

Hazlewood Castle will also provide you with your own Wedding Day Manager & professional, friendly staff. This ensures that the whole experience goes exactly the way you planned. Your Wedding Day Manager is on-site to offer support & will gladly undertake the role of toastmaster.

Hazlewood Castle does not charge for organising any of the above; it’s all part of the service!

We had our wedding here at the beginning of December. The best choice we have made is to hold our wedding in Hazelwood Castle. Fantastic venue, Melissa, Lis and the team are super helpful and organised! Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you all for making our special day perfect!!

We were one of the rescheduled weddings and although we originally contacted Hazlewood in 2019, we didn't get married until 2022. promptly to correspondence and answered my many queries. Even though the coordinator on the day was not someone I had even spoken to before (which worried me), the handover was seamless and the day went without a hitch! I provided most of the decoration for the castle myself and we had several extras (cocktails, fireworks) and I was impressed at the smooth running of every element - many of my guests complimented the team too. We did have a few niggles with rooms the day before but these were quickly and efficiently resolved.

The gorgeous venue speaks for itself and we have some lovely photos to remember our day. I loved the quirky style of the castle; with its beautiful staircase, fabulous fireplace and old library it certainly gave our guests plenty to talk about even before they saw the grandeur of the main room. All the food was lovely and the wedding breakfast was delicious, again receiving many compliments.

The venue provided a DJ and I was able to send a playlist of "must have" songs which was great.

I'd definitely recommend Hazlewood Castle (they also have a chapel) to anyone looking for a historic and interesting venue with lovely grounds. For information, I had 65 day guests, increasing to 95 at night.

We had a magical day in the woods with this totally unique venue which offered all the whimsy and freedom we wanted, whilst still being affordable. The staff were amazing and it really was the best day of our lives! Can we do it all over again next year??

Hazlewood Castle was the best decision we made for our wedding - any other venue was nothing in comparison. Not only is it a stunning place with plenty of space for a big wedding, including lots of rooms for guests, but the staff are exceptional.

all the questions to ask us to ensure our day was exactly as we dreamed it. She was flexible around those last minute changes thanks to difficult guests, and she was happy to add on a couple of extra, not from our menu meals for those who last minute shared allergies. You hear horror stories of problems with the venue, but this couldn't have been more of a breeze. We felt so special it was like we were the only couple getting married there, even though they were back to back weddings.
On the day, Liz and her team were brilliant and made the day not only go smoothly but exceed our expectations. She ensured the bride and groom always had a drink in our hands, and was good at making sure the bar was well tended enough that guests didn't have to queue for long. She had the perfect balance between making sure we were happy and checking details with us, while also leaving us alone to enjoy the evening.
All the guests commented on what an incredible venue it was (including some saying it made the day or was the best they'd ever seen) and complimented the incredible job the staff were doing.
From the very start of the day, featuring getting ready in the unbelievably huge bridal sweet and breakfast with bubbly, to the end of the night everything was so perfect. The decorations were put up without us even noticing, canapés were brought round at the ideal times and the dinner service was exceptional.
I can't recommend Hazlewood Castle enough, and would love to be part of another wedding there - even if it wasn't my own - because I know it'll be a better experience than I would have at any other venue.
