The Grade 2 listed New House is a serene and romantic country pile, originally built by a wealthy Welsh industrialist, Thomas Lewis in the 1730s. A country hotel located in the stunning Thornhill, just outside of Cardiff.

The venue itself is absolutely beautiful and the ideal space to host a wedding - it's the perfect backdrop for amazing, timeless photos. The rooms are also beautiful - the bridal getting ready room is spectacular and makes the perfect space for the bridal party to get ready. I would highly recommend having your wedding at the New House Country Hotel.

The venue itself is gorgeous, a perfect mix of elegance, charm, and breathtaking views. But what really made it special was how much the team truly cared about us and our day. We particularly want to shout out Cath, who made everything come together and went above and beyond to make the day amazing. She took the stress away from planning it all and was always happy to answer my many emails!

We recently had our wedding at The New House Country Hotel, and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely taken care of. The team was attentive, professional, and genuinely invested in making our day unforgettable.

was perfect for our intimate celebration—elegant, cosy, and full of charm. It created the ideal atmosphere for our closest family and friends to come together and celebrate in a relaxed, joyful setting.

Now, let’s talk about the food—incredible! Every single dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Our guests are still talking about it! It truly elevated the entire experience.

What really stood out, though, was the vibe. The entire day felt effortless and full of positive energy, thanks to the seamless coordination and warm hospitality of the staff. They anticipated our needs, handled every detail with care, and made sure we were able to fully enjoy each moment.

We couldn’t have asked for a better place to begin our forever. Thank you to everyone at The New House Country Hotel for helping us create memories we’ll treasure for a lifetime!

We cannot recommend the New House Hotel enough.

From the moment we booked, the team were incredibly supportive, caring and accommodating.

Nothing was too great an ask, and the communication during the 3 year run-up was always fantastic.

blown away by the venue, and specifically the food. We ourselves have attended weddings where the meal was so-so, but the quality of the food is exceptional, and the portion sizes are great.

Emily and Cath are so easy to work with and are always happy to help with any questions and requests. The process of planning a wedding is intense, and it was far less stressful knowing how easy it was to communicate with them and ask questions whenever I needed to.

Lucy helped to coordinate the wedding on the day, and she genuinely couldn’t do enough for us. Nothing was too big an ask, and the day went by without a single hiccup.

We’ve been asked a million times if we have wedding blues since our big day, but I can genuinely say that I don’t, because we still feel like we’re in a wonderful wedding bubble as everytime we see one of our guests, we get to hear all the wonderful things they remember about the wedding, and it takes us right back to how we felt on the day - just pure happiness.

We’re already looking forward to the next time we can visit The New House with our families, I know it will always be a very very special place for us all.
