We’re talking about the Hallmark Hotel Carlisle’s ludicrously photogenic ballroom. Opened exactly 150 years ago it’s a remarkable venue for anyone’s wedding with its pastel, purple and gilt décor, alongside a towering ceiling, glistening wood sprung dance floor – the only one in Cumbria – and entertainment stage.
It’s the most dramatic of our five event rooms – three are licensed for civil ceremonies – that can host everything from an intimate gathering (we appreciate it may just be the two of you!) to a sit down banquet for 180 guests and an evening reception for 200.
