The Spread Eagle Hotel Wedding venue in Oxfordshire offers an unrivalled location in the heart of the South Oxfordshire countryside, overlooking the historic market town of Thame.
Our spacious Fothergill Suite is the perfect wedding venue for an unforgettable day, whether it is for the civil ceremony, wedding breakfast or evening party.
Seating up to 120 guests and accommodating up to 200 for an evening party, we offer bespoke wedding packages where every element of your day can be individually tailored.
The Fothergill Suite has its own private bar facilities, ample parking and 35 comfortable bedrooms; you can be assured of an intimate and enchanting setting for your special day. For your all important photographs you will have your own private garden area with a gazebo that can be decorated, outdoor seating and a nice group photo area. There are many places around the Hotel which are great for Bride and Groom photo memories including a lovely purple Wisteria plant over the Reception which makes for beautiful pictures in the Spring and the Hotel's 16th Century facade.
We accommodate every type of booking, Civil Ceremonies and Civil Partnerships, Full Wedding Bonanzas, Casual Evening Celebrations and many more, the list really is as long as my arm, so you can make your day as laid-back or traditional as you like.
The attached Brochures contain standard menus (however you are not limited to these) and includes Packages too. The Brochures are there to give you an idea of what we can offer. If you wish to make your Wedding package as individual as you are, please just ask we would be happy to help. No question is a silly one so please feel free to ask us, that's what we're here for after all!
Our dedicated team offers a wealth of knowledge and can assist or advise you on every aspect of this important event. We even have a long list of local suppliers that are used at The Spread Eagle Hotel regularly, so if you are unsure of what's needed or who to use we can help. We will be with you for your whole experience, from initial enquiry, to helping you choose your colour scheme and menus, to greeting you on your Big Day and ensuring that your day goes just how you always dreamed. On the wedding day, Richard was great, the whole day ran so smoothly and everything was how we imagined. The room was set up beautifully. They were very accommodating with allowing to set up some things the night before. The food was also amazing, we did have some fussy eaters and they even said how great the food was. We were lucky to be able to take photos outside as the rain decided to stop. They have some really beautiful areas for photos. We had use of the restaurant for breakfast, which the food was lovely and there was a range of food to pick from. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly.
We and all our family and friends had the best day.

Erica, the wedding and events co-ordinator, made sure everything ran smoothly and was very patient with a slightly disorganised bride!!
The venue was beautiful and the rooms very comfortable. The food was delicious (especially the sticky toffee pudding) and there was plenty of it. We supplied a cheese and pork pie stack and the venue happily accommodated this. It was lovely to be able to tailor a package to our wants, needs and budget.
The bar staff were lovely and absolutely fantastic with the children as well!!
